Black History Does Not Exist

Black History Does Not Exist!
Fact or Fiction???
Why do we celebrate Black History? Is there any truth to black history? In my opinion, the answer is no. Have I gotten your attention yet? I hope I have. Friends, can you imagine a life with no refrigeration (Thomas Elkins)? Or what about the frustration we would have if our light bulbs only last for four hours (Lewis H. Latimore)? How do you feel at a traffic light? I believe most of us are calm, trusting in the ability of the traffic light to direct the masses that surrounds us every day? (Garret A. Morgan) If these are things we rely on in our daily lives, why do we divide the origins of the inventions and ideals? These are not advancements only for African American use, but for the world!
Even in typing this article, I’m using a computer application to do so. Thanks, Mark Dean, for revolutionizing the computer with your contributions of vital applications used around the world today! See, my friends, we all apart of each other’s beginning and end.
So if you find yourself, celebrating African American History, think twice on how you define it. Try seeing it as world history or the “Inclination of Man.” If history is what the future is built on, why do we crack our foundation with segregations or labels of color?
Truly, we are all sojourners in the race of life. Inventions and ideals come from the mind, heart, and dreams of a man, and not his or her race or nationality. One last question guys, How many of us now enjoy being friends with all walks of life (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.)?
As we continue on the journey of life, let us not focus on the color of person’s skin, nationality, gender, weight or height! Let us chose to look deep inside a person soul to embrace the differences of each individual.
